摘要: 地理信息系统(GIS)是信息技术的一个分支,近年来,GIS在社会生活各领域得到了越来越广泛的应用.该文探讨了GIS在通信领域的应用,具体介绍了基于GIS的通信网络管理、GIS支持下的移动通信服务、GIS辅助通信光缆维护、GIS支持下的无线通信基站天线高度增益计算、基于GIS的无线通信基站选址及基于遥感和GIS的通信光缆选线辅助决策分析等.

Abstract: Geographical information system (GIS) is now widely used in various areas in social activities and in the daily life. Applications of GIS in communications are reviewed in this article. These include GISbased communication network management, mobile communication service using GIS, GISassisted communication maintenance, calculation of base station antenna height and the antenna gain in wireless communication, location of wireless communication base stations, and decision analysis of optical cable selection with assistance of remote sensing and GIS.
