Assumption made in the mathematical model for large deflection of microscopic incompressible  saturated poroelastic beam is that fluid in pores can only flow in the direction of a deformed axis. Based on this model, nonlinear quasi-tatic bending of a saturated poroelastic cantilever beam with fixed end impermeable and free end permeable,  with a suddenly applied nonconservative concentrated transverse load at its free end, is investigated with the Galerkin  truncation method. The curves of deflections and bending moments of the beam skeleton are shown with respect to time and the beam axis. Numerical results show that, for small loads, there is little difference between results for the nonconservative  and conservative concentrated load and between large nonlinear and small linear deflection models. For large loads, results of large nonlinear deflection model are smaller than those of small linear deflection model. Results for the nonconservative loads are larger than those for conservative loads. The difference increases with load. Further, when a concentrated load is suddenly applied, deformation of the beam skeleton does not instantly occur. Deflection of the poroelastic beam increases and finally converges to a stationary state in which the poroelastic beam skeleton takes the entire external load.

In recent years, with the urban construction and economic development, the problem of aerosol pollution is becoming increasingly serious. Especially for foggy weather in urban areas, aerosol particles form a primary pollutant. This calls for people’s concern to deal with the fog pollution problem for clean air. This paper focuses on the basic characteristics of aerosol particles and fog, including turbulent diffusion of aerosol particles, chemical transformation and dynamical characteristics. In addition, a detailed investigation on the aerosol transport problem in China and other countries is made, and the direction of the studies is discussed. 

A variation-difference method (VDM) is developed for computation subsonic flow. This method is simple and effective in constructing the relationship between cell nodes by combining the variational principle with the differential formula derived from directional derivative. The method is implemented in computations of the flows over circular cylinder and the NACA0012 airfoil. Numerical results show that VDM has high accuracy in subsonic flow simulation.

Mechanical behavior of large-scale deformation for rubber stress cone of high voltage cable accessories was studied with a German Zwick020 material test machine. Stressstrain relation curves were obtained under different temperatures and different loading rates. From these curves, influences of temperature and loading rate were analyzed. The material’s mechanical properties were theoretically analyzed with the Mooney-Rivlin model, and some fitting parameters of the material were got from experimental data. Two constitutive equations of material were then constructed, and the stress obtained in the experiment was compared with theoretical calculation. It shows that the equations are suitable in engineering practice and can be used for further research.

This paper discusses isomorphism between invertible torus parabolic maps and periodicity where periodic point sets in horocyclic case are dense in the torus topology, and some semi-rational cases possess periodic points of all periods. For the integral parabolic maps on the torus, the topological entropy is zero. Symbolic entropy and complexity of planar piecewise parabolic maps are investigated. Their difference under the plane topology and the torus topology respectively for the same torus parabolic maps is also discussed.

The paper introduces monoidal categories, center and weak center over monoidal categories, which are divided into left and right centers. Based on these, the relations between the center and the Yetter-Drinfeld modules categories are studied, and it is proved that the center and the Yetter-Drinfeld module categories are isomorphic. Weak Hopf π coalgebra and its structure are further studied. 

A vector-valued Padé-type approximation is defined in the inner space by introducing a generalized linear functional from a polynomial space to a vector space. With the error formula for vector-valued Padé-type approximation, the orthogonal polynomial with respect to a generalized linear functional is defined. The block structure of Padé-type table is derived. The structure can be used to reduce computation of Padé-type approximations. An example is given to illustrate effectiveness of the method.

Convex geometry is an important branch of modern geometry. Convex bodies and star bodies are a main object of study with many unsolved open problems and conjectures. Although these problems and conjectures are different, they are actually equivalent. In this paper, we discuss the connection of several conjectures such as isotropic constant conjecture, slicing problem, Busemann-Petty problem, and reverse Brunn-Minkowski inequality. We give proofs of the equivalence.

This paper borrows ideas from the research on the Riesz frame perturbation in the Hilbert space, and in particular, discusses the topic that a weighted frame has the similar perturbation result. This paper uses the modified resonant recognitions model to predict interactions between yeast proteins and DNA. The difference of distributions of signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) between the positive data and the random data are found using wavelet transform. CuO/γ-Al2O3 sorbent catalysts prepared by stepwise impregnation were studied using the X-ray diffraction (XRD), H2 temperatureprogrammed reduction (H2TPR) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) experiments. Results showed that the dispersion capacity of CuO loading on γ-Al2O3 was 0.042 g/100 m2. Two forms of CeO2 on γ-Al2O3 were observed: one consisted of highly dispersed entities (called 2D-Ce), and the other were relatively large three dimensional particles (3D-Ce). The controlled addition of CuO/γ-Al2O3 improved catalyst dispersion, substantially increased the absorption capacity and absorption rate and the cycling life of CuO/γ-Al2O3.

Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs), a class of persistent organic pollutants, were proved to be endocrine disruptors and neurotoxic agents. However, there are few reports about the toxic effects of their hydroxylated metabolites. Our objective was to investigate the cytotoxicity of 6-hydroxylated2,2′,4,4′tetrapolybrominated diphenyl ethers (6-OH-BDE47) and its effects on anti-oxidative systems in A549 cells after acute exposure. The results show that 6-OH-BDE47 has obvious cytotoxicity, and the A549 cell survival gradually decrease after exposure in a dose and time-dependent manner. Acute exposure experiment confirmed that the oxidative stress system of A549 cells was seriously impaired by 6-OH-BDE47. When the final concentration of 6-OH-BDE47 in culture medium was higher than 0.5 μmol/L, the total superoxide dismutase (T-SOD) content in treatment group cells increased by 1.03  times compared to the control group cells; and ≥ 2.0 μmol/L of 6-OH-BDE47 reduced the glutathione content by 71.2%. These results suggest that 6-OH-BDE47 has certain cytotoxicity on A549 cells and can impair oxidative stress responses as evidenced by increased SOD activity and decreased GSH.

Principal component analysis (PCA) is used to analyze the original image, and parameters of high-boost filter (HBT) determined. Edges in the image are located by combining some similarity measures. Line integral convolution (LIC) is used to generate the original image’s texture. Pencil drawing is finally created by superposition of the edge image and the texture image. Antioxidant part of Astragali Radix was determined with an oil stability index (OSI) method. An experimental atherosclerosis in quails was established to observe the effects of the antioxidant part of  Astragali Radix and its combination with Panax notoginseng saponins (PNS). After 8 weeks of feeding with the antioxidant part of Astragali Radix and its combination with PNS, the total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), low density lipoprotein (LDL-C), high density lipoprotein (HDL-C), total antioxidant capacity (T-AOC), superoxide dismutase (SOD), and malondialdehyde (MDA) in serum were measured. The results show that, compared with atherosclerosis (AS) model quails, the serum TG, TC, LDL-C, MDA are obviously lower (P<0.1) while T-AOC, SOD are totally opposite, indicating that the antioxidant part of Astragali

Radix and its combination with PNS have good effects in antiAS.
