Journal Introduction
Founded in 1995, the Journal of Shanghai University (Natural Science Edition) is a multidisciplinary natural science academic journal (bimonthly) supervised by Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and sponsored by Shanghai University. Academician Zhou Bangxin acts as its Honorary Editor-in-Chief and Academician Sun Jinliang Editor-in-Chief. Orienting at the readers of college teachers and students, scientific researchers, engineers and technicians and other related personnel, the journal mainly publishes the research achievements (papers from NSFC and 863 high-tech projects, etc) in the fields of basic science, technical science and applied science.
The Journal has been listed in “CSTPCD” of Ministry of Science and Technology, “Chinese Periodical Square Matrix” of GAPP, the core journals of the “2001 National Social Science Fund Project” research group, and GCJC (2014 Edition). At the same time, the Journal has been indexed and abstracted by a dozen databases and retrievable abstracts domestic and overseas such as American EBSCOhost, American Mathematical Reviews (MR), Chemical Abstracts (CA) and Cambridge Scientific Abstracts (CSA), Germany Zentralblatt Math (ZM), Chinese Journal Full-text Database (CJFD), Chinese Academic Journal Comprehensive Evaluation Database (CAJCED), China Core Journal (Alternative) Database, Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD), Chinese Academic Journal (CD) (CAJ-CD) Database and Wanfang Data System Technical Journal Group Database.
Dedicated to promoting academic research and academic reputation of Shanghai University, the journal focuses its efforts on brand building and differentiating itself from its competitors. The “three-review system” has been strictly implemented, that is to adhere to the preliminary review of Editorial Department, double anonymous peer review, and final review by the Editor-in-Chief in the principle of fairness and impartiality to ensure the fairness, seriousness and quality of the process, thus ensuring the academic quality of the Journal.
The Journal has been focusing on brand building and distinction pursuing, which is mainly reflected in:
(1) Content innovation: launching special issues; exploring ways of developing comprehensive journal;
(2) Column innovation: initiating new columns such as “Key Laboratory”; cultivating highly competitive columns.
(3) Information innovation: establishing a forum for online communication among editors, writers and readers;
(4) Activities innovation: constructing “Editorial Center” to provide better service.
The Editorial Department of the Journal attaches great importance to the quality of editing, and takes meticulous compilation, multiple proofreading and other measures to minimize the error rate of editing and proofreading. In recent years, the Journal has won the following awards:
