Abstract:
Propagation of firediffusefire Ca2+ waves through a cylindric domain is considered. Ca2+ concentration is an analytic solution derived from the diffusion equation in the domain. Existence and stability are shown to be dependent on the radius and the Ca2+ pump rate. It is also shown that the threshold of fire increase as radius increasing in finite interval. The results provides better understanding about the roles of endoplasmic and Ca2+ pumps in the intracellular Ca2+ dynamics of cells.
