Abstract:
In this article, we briefly introduce the principle of the differential quadrature method (DQM), its development,and factors that influence precision of the DQsolutions. The advantages over the finite difference method(FDM) and finite element method (FEM) are discussed. Emphasis is given to the recent advances of DQM, the applications to related fields in solid and fluid mechanics, and its prospects.
