Abstract:
Full three dimensional numerical simulations of centrifugal pump are carried out using ANSYS CFX11.0 under 2 operating conditions with 6 different impeller positions. The Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations are solved with a turbulence model of standard k-ε. The flow pattern is obtained. The head and hydraulic efficiency of the pump are computed. The results are compared with measured data and the unsteady results. Based on these, an analysis is made over the effect of impeller position on the steady calculation of centrifugal pump.
