Abstract:
In this paper, temperature characteristics of quarter-waveplate are analyzed theoretically. With temperature changes, the change of phase retarder of quarter-waveplates made of panda fiber, and geometrical birefringent fiber are discussed respectively. Quarterwaveplates made of geometrical birefringent fiber is more insensitive. And two types of quarter-waveplates made in our laboratory are measured too. The results show that, between -40 ℃ and 60 ℃, the quarter-waveplate made of geometrical birefringence fiber has better temperature characteristics than that made of panda fiber.
