Abstract: To deal with the problem of early damages on road surfaces, appropriate design methods to ensure long life asphalt pavement are of great significance. Mechanical properties of the materials and structural thickness of the pavement play important roles in pavement structure design. In this paper, a test scheme is proposed to effectively reduce the cost of test based on the theory of orthogonality. By changing the structure control parameters, their influence on long life pavement design have been analyzed. Numerical results show that the proposed method can be used in long life asphalt pavement design and construction. 
