An Algorithm for Analyzing Magnetic Field Distribution of Saddle Excitation Coils in EM Flowmeter Sensor

Abstract: This paper studies rectangular saddle excitation coil widely used in industrial sensors for electromagnetic flowmeters. An analytic algorithm is introduced to simulate the magnetic field distribution of plane coils inside pipes. An approximate folded line method is proposed to simulate the field of saddle coils. Experiments show that the folded line method is simple and feasible.
