Abstract:

Polysulfonamide fiber (PSAF)/polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) composites were prepared by hot pressing process. The effect of PSAF on material mechanical properties, thermal stability, structure and morphology was studied with thermal gravimetric analyzer(TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), and thermal field scanning electron microscope (TFSEM). The results show that PSAF can improve mechanical properties of the composite materials, and the composites have good thermal stability. A moderate amount of PSAF can be well dispersed in the PTFE matrix. Bonding of the PSAF and PTFE matrix interfacial is good, and there is a physical adhesion.
