Abstract: A novel dual-band filter based on the substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) is proposed. The filter is composed of two filters with different center frequencies and bandwidths. The two filters share the same input and output ports and use a rectangular substrate integrated waveguide cavity structure. Multi-transmission zeros have been obtained by electrical coupling between the source and the load, greatly improving the frequency-selective characteristics of the filter. A Ku-band substrate integrated waveguide dual-band filter is designed, with bandwidths of 220 and 120 MHz for the two pass-bands. A model with full-wave simulation is built with the Ansoft HFSS. Simulation results show that the filter has steep stopband attenuation and a compact structure.  easurement results agree well with the simulation.
