摘要: 分析颜色直方图在基于内容的图像检索(content-based image retrieval,CBIR)中存
在的问题,提出一种应用图像边缘空间分布的检索方法.利用颜色向量角对亮度不敏感,对色度和饱和度敏感的特性提取彩色图像边缘.在图像的边缘像素及其近邻提取颜色向量角直方图,同时在图像的平滑像素区提取颜色直方图,将两种直方图结合起来用以描述图像内容.该方法较充分地利用了图像的颜色、边缘、形状信息,具有良好的光照不变性,与颜色直方图法相比,检索效果有明显改善.

Abstract: A novel content-based image retrieval scheme using image edge informa
tion is proposed. Since color vector angles are only sensitive to hue and saturation but insensitive to luminance, edge information in a color image can be extracted based on them. A color vector angle histogram is obtained for edge pixels while a color histogram calculated for smooth pixels. Both histograms are jointly used to construct a characteristic vector of the image, which makes full use of color, edge and shape information in the image. Experimental results show that the proposed method is robust against luminance variations and the retrieval performance is better than those only using color histograms.
