Temperature Characteristics of Fiber Quarter Waveplate

摘要:

分析光纤λ/4波片的温度特性,讨论应力双折射的熊猫型光纤和几何双折射光纤制成的λ/4波片的相位延迟随温度变化的改变情况,得出几何双折射光纤制成的λ/4波片更为稳定.对自制的两种光纤λ/4波片进行实际测量,实验结果显示,用几何双折射光纤制成的λ/4波片比用熊猫型光纤制成的λ/4波片在-40~60 ℃的温度范围内具有更好的温度特性.

Abstract:

In this paper, temperature characteristics of quarter-waveplate are analyzed theoretically. With temperature changes, the change of phase retarder of quarter-waveplates made of panda fiber, and geometrical birefringent fiber are discussed respectively. Quarterwaveplates made of geometrical birefringent fiber is more insensitive. And two types of quarter-waveplates made in our laboratory are measured too. The results show that, between -40 ℃ and 60 ℃, the quarter-waveplate made of geometrical birefringence fiber has better temperature characteristics than that made of panda fiber.
