Abstract:

Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) are a kind of fire retardant that exists widely in the living environment. PBDEs become a major focus in the environmental science due to the pollution problem. This paper introduces distribution of PBDEs in organism and toxic effects including thyroid toxicity, nervous system toxicity, hepatotoxicity, reproduction and development of toxicity and immune toxicity. The corresponding toxicity mechanism is discussed, providing practical and reliable theoretical supports of biology effect caused by PBDEs, and drawing the public attention to this kind of fire retardant.
