Abstract:

Two iridium complexes, Ir(ppy)2(ADP) (ADP=2-allyl-1,3-diphenyl-1,3-propanedione, ppy=2-phenyl-pyridine), Ir(ppy)2(VPHD) (VPHD=6-(4-vinylphenyl)-2,4-hexanedione), have been synthesized and characterized by 1H-NMR and FTIR. Compared with spectra of the reported iridium complex Ir(ppy)2(acac) (acac=2,4-acetylacetone), Ir(ppy)2(VPHD) and Ir(ppy)2(acac) have the similar phosphorescence spectra, and their excellent green luminescence were observed with the maximum emission wavelengh at 520 nm. The maximum emission wavelengh for the Ir(ppy)2(ADP) in ethyl acetate solutions changed with its concentrations, from 487 nm (10-5 mol·L-1) to 516 nm (10-4 mol·L-1). The maximum emission bands for the Ir(ppy)2(ADP) shifted to shorter wavelengths compared with those of the other two Ir3+ complexes.
