AbstractThe effects of nitrogen content on the microstructure of Fe-21Cr-3Ni-1Mo-N duplex stainless steel (DSS) are studied. Increase of nitrogen increases the austenite volume fraction, and the effect of N content on the phase ratio is significant. With thermodynamic analysis, it is found that increase of N content is conducive to precipitation and growth of austenite. By fitting the data, it is found that the phase ratio of Fe-21Cr-3Ni-1Mo-N duplex stainless steel is 1∶1 when the content of N is 1.545%.
