A Sociological Analysis of Tourism in Qingpu

Abstract: Tourist industry is playing more and more important role in promoting the development of regional economy. And Qingpu District in Shanghai, due to its richer resources of ecology and humanities, lays a good basis for the development of tourism. This essay, by using the theories and methods of sociology and economics, analyzes the situation and future of tourist development in Qingpu and puts forward some strategies and enlightenments. First, the author evaluates the objective background of development, and, as far as its influence is concerned, makes a judgment of the tendency. Based on this, he determines the market position and points clearly out the orientation and strategies such as catering to the market, improving the function, forming the characteristic, and determining the advantage. All these directional objects aim at turning Qingpu into a tourist holiday resort well known for AsiaPacific region.
